Refund policy

This Return and Refund Policy applies to purchases made through bakewares.shop.

For all return, exchange, damaged-item, defective-product, cancellation, or refund enquiries, contact:

info@bakewares.shop

1. 30-Day Voluntary Return Policy

bakewares.shop offers a 30-day voluntary return period for eligible products.

The return period begins on the date the applicable product is delivered.

To qualify for an ordinary change-of-mind return, you must contact us within 30 days after delivery.

Canadian consumers do not have a universal statutory right to return every ordinary retail purchase merely because they changed their mind, so merchants generally rely on their published return policies while mandatory remedies for defective goods and provincial consumer rights continue to apply.

Our 30-day return policy is therefore an additional commercial policy offered by bakewares.shop and does not replace statutory rights.

2. How to Request a Return

To start a return, email:

info@bakewares.shop

Please provide:

  • your name;
  • your order number;
  • the product you wish to return;
  • the reason for the return; and
  • photographs where the product is damaged, defective, or incorrect.

We will review the request and provide return instructions where the product qualifies.

Do not send a product to an address shown on the original parcel without contacting us first.

An address printed on a shipping label may belong to a carrier, distribution centre, fulfilment partner, or other logistics facility that is not authorised to accept customer returns.

3. Change-of-Mind Return Conditions

For an ordinary change-of-mind return, the product must generally be:

  • unused;
  • unwashed;
  • undamaged;
  • unaltered;
  • clean;
  • complete;
  • in substantially original condition;
  • accompanied by its accessories and components; and
  • returned with original packaging where reasonably possible.

The product must remain suitable for inspection and resale.

4. Bakeware and Food-Contact Products

For safety, hygiene, and product-integrity reasons, bakeware and kitchen products that have been used in contact with food may not qualify for a voluntary change-of-mind return.

Examples can include:

  • baking trays that have been cooked with;
  • cake moulds that have been used;
  • mixing tools used with ingredients;
  • pastry brushes used with food;
  • measuring tools containing food residue;
  • kitchen utensils that have been used;
  • food-storage products that have been used; and
  • products that have been washed after use.

Opening packaging solely to inspect an unused product does not automatically make it non-returnable.

However, actual use, food contamination, significant scratches, burns, stains, odours, washing, or damage can make a product ineligible for an ordinary voluntary return.

These conditions do not limit valid claims involving defective or incorrectly supplied goods.

5. Non-Returnable Products

Unless required otherwise by applicable law, we do not accept ordinary change-of-mind returns for:

  • products that have been used;
  • products that have been washed;
  • products used in direct contact with food;
  • products damaged by misuse;
  • products showing significant wear;
  • customised or personalised products;
  • gift cards;
  • products returned after the applicable 30-day period; and
  • products clearly identified as final sale before purchase.

A discounted product is not automatically final sale unless it was expressly identified as such.

6. Damaged Products

Please inspect your package after delivery.

If your item arrives damaged, contact:

info@bakewares.shop

Please provide your order number and photographs of the product and packaging where reasonably possible.

Examples of shipping damage may include:

  • cracked products;
  • bent bakeware;
  • broken handles;
  • shattered components;
  • severely dented products;
  • missing pieces; or
  • damage making the product unsafe or unsuitable for its intended use.

We will review the circumstances and provide an appropriate remedy.

7. Defective Products

If a product appears to contain a manufacturing defect, please contact us promptly.

A defect can include circumstances where a product does not function as reasonably represented or contains a material fault that was not caused by misuse.

Please email:

info@bakewares.shop

with your order number and an explanation of the issue.

Photographs or video may be requested where reasonably useful for assessing the problem.

8. Incorrect Products

If you receive a different product from the product ordered, contact us at:

info@bakewares.shop

Where the error is confirmed, we will arrange an appropriate replacement, return, or refund without requiring you to bear inappropriate return costs resulting from our error.

9. Missing Items

If an order arrives with an item or material component missing, contact:

info@bakewares.shop

Please retain the packaging until the matter has been reviewed.

10. Return Shipping Costs

For an eligible change-of-mind return, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning the product unless we agree otherwise.

Because we provide free standard outbound shipping, no standard original shipping fee is normally deducted from the refund.

Where a return results from a confirmed defective, damaged, or incorrect product attributable to us, return-shipping arrangements will be handled as appropriate under this policy and applicable law.

11. Return Packaging

Returned products must be packaged securely to prevent damage in transit.

Where available, customers should reuse the original protective packaging.

For customer-arranged returns, we recommend using a service that provides tracking.

bakewares.shop cannot assume responsibility for avoidable damage caused by inadequate packaging during a customer-arranged return.

12. Inspection of Returns

After receiving a returned product, we may inspect it to determine:

  • whether the correct item was returned;
  • whether the return was requested within the applicable period;
  • whether the product has been used;
  • whether components are missing;
  • whether the product has been damaged;
  • whether food-contact use occurred; and
  • whether the product qualifies for a refund.

13. Refunds

If a return is approved, the applicable refund will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Refunds will normally cover the eligible amount actually paid for the returned product.

14. Refund Processing

After we approve and issue a refund, customers should generally allow approximately 5–10 business days for the transaction to appear in their account.

Actual posting time is controlled by banks, card networks, and payment processors.

15. Exchanges

Where stock is available, we may be able to assist with an exchange.

Contact:

info@bakewares.shop

before returning the item.

The fastest solution may sometimes be to return an eligible item and place a new order after the original return is approved.

16. Order Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an order, contact:

info@bakewares.shop

as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel orders that have not entered final fulfilment.

Once an order has been packed, processed, or shipped, cancellation may no longer be operationally possible.

You may then use the applicable return procedure after delivery where eligible.

17. Refused or Unclaimed Parcels

Refusing delivery or failing to collect a parcel does not automatically qualify the order for an immediate refund.

Returned parcels must first be identified and reviewed.

Customers should contact us rather than simply refusing delivery.

18. Quebec Consumer Rights

Customers in Quebec may have additional statutory rights for qualifying distance contracts, including certain cancellation and refund rights where statutory contract or delivery requirements are not met. Quebec's consumer authority describes specific online-purchase cancellation procedures and, in qualifying cases, requires reimbursement within the statutory timeframe.

Nothing in this policy overrides those mandatory rights.

19. Fraudulent Returns

We may investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive activity, including:

  • returning a different item;
  • false damage claims;
  • deliberate product damage;
  • manipulated photographs;
  • repeated false non-delivery claims; or
  • misuse of our return programme.

This provision will not be used to deny legitimate consumer claims.

20. Mandatory Legal Rights

Nothing in this Return and Refund Policy excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Canadian federal, provincial, or territorial law.
